A decorated pilot in WWII, John S. Howell, III discovered a niche
market in the dawning of the jet age. He designed and patented the JETCAL® Analyzer to resolve the difficulty of testing the temperature indicating systems of the newly installed jet engines on the B-36 bomber.
This revolutionary, portable product allowed effective and accurate
testing without removing the engine from the aircraft, substantially
reducing operating and sustainment costs and eliminating hundreds
of maintenance hours.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and belief in design without bounds,
John Howell founded B&H Instruments, in 1951. The JETCAL®
Analyzer became the cornerstone of the company's product line,
and as word of its efficiency and accuracy spread, demand
increased, and by 1960 it was in use across the globe. The
company became Howell Instruments, Inc., and through the
decades continued recruiting quality, committed experts in the
field to solve problems and expand the product line.
Perseverance and ingenuity have enabled Howell Instruments to
expand to a burgeoning company into a progressive production facility supporting domestic and international markets. With offices and representatives around the world, Howell Instruments, Inc. continues
to envision and develop products to improve flight safety and operating efficiency. |
